Snow Sport Injury Clinic

Worried about your skiing or snowboarding injury?   Don’t leave it to chance.

If you sustained a skiing or snowboarding injury, you were likely seen by local doctors before returning home. However, you might have found that the medical attention provided may not have confirmed a diagnosis. Leaving you with the uncertainty of not knowing how much time to take off work, or whether you will be able to get back to doing your physical activity of choice.

This winter, Highgate Private Hospital are running a dedicated Snow Sports injury clinic for those returning from the slopes. The clinic is led by Dr Ademola Adejuwon and Dr James Thing, who lead the Sports and Exercise Medicine service at Highgate Private Hospital. Depending on your level of injury, Physiotherapy, Imaging and surgical support are available.

At your consultation, your Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant can arrange rapid access to Imaging (including ultrasound, X-ray, CT and/or MRI scans) with findings and a recommended treatment plan discussed same day (either over the phone or in person). If a CT or MRI are required, a full report from a Consultant Radiologist will be delivered within 48 hours.

Common snow sport injuries in need of treatment include:

  • Knee ligament injuries
  • Shoulder dislocation
  • Skiers thumb
