Urology

At Highgate Private Hospital, we understand the major impact that urological problems can have on the quality of life, and, whilst these issues are common, they can sometimes be difficult or embarrassing to talk about. Our first-class clinicians will do all that they can to put you at ease and help support and treat you, whilst maintaining your respect and dignity.

What is urology?

Urology’ is the department of medicine that deals with the genitourinary tract in men and the urinary tract in women (due to the nature of problems and diseases affecting the female genital system, these are dealt with in the gynaecology department).

What to expect?

In your initial consultation, you will meet with one of our friendly specialists who will explore your problems and make a thorough assessment of how best to move forward with managing your condition. This may include an examination, imaging or further testing and investigation at our state-of-the-art facilities. Following a full assessment, one of our consultant urologists will explain the outcomes of your investigations and the treatment options that would be suitable for you.

Everything will be explained to you clearly and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask our experts any questions you may have. Our aim is to ensure that all procedures are carried out sensitively and professionally.
