Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the eye and vision.

We offer regular outpatient clinics with Consultant Ophthamologists. Whether you need simple eye-care or treatment of complex vision and eye-related problems, such as macular degeneration and glaucoma, we can care for you from diagnosis through to treatment.

Ophthalmology integrates with many other branches of medicine, for example the commonest cause of visual impairment under the age of 65 years is diabetes, and at Highgate Hospital your consultant has access to other specialists within the hospital to work with and refer to as appropriate.
