Health Screening
Looking after oneself is a top priority for many, and health screening is an excellent way of assessing your current health and wellbeing.
Our health screens are designed and tailored for men and women with concerns in regards to their health. By undertaking a health screen you can reassure the status of your health, or potentially determine the onset or future risk of developing diseases. By catching risks or onset of disease early, you are best placed for initial treatment or preventative measures to be taken.
What is included in the health screen?
A health screen is a general, overall check of your current health. Our Health Screen includes nurse-led tests, examinations and followed by a detailed medical history discussion with a GP. You will also be provided with a comprehensive report and personalised advice on lifestyle and behavioural changes to improve your long term health.
Everyone is susceptible to illness, and so can benefit from the positive action and peace of mind resulting from a health screen. However, you may particularly want to consider a health screen in the following circumstances:
- After the birth of your baby
- Before taking up physical exercise
- Family history of illness such as heart disease, diabetes or cancer
- If you are over the age of 50
- If you have any health concerns
- After prolonged exposure to stressful situations or if you have a hectic lifestyle
How long will it take?
Blood tests and along with some of the physical examinations will be carried out in a nurse-led Clinic which will take approximately an hour. Upon receiving all your test results usually a week after your initial appointment you will have a discussion with a GP who will go through your results and medical history. This will take approximately an hour. Should you need any further tests (eg. smear test) you may require another 30 minute follow up consultation with your GP.
What type of tests are included in the health screen?
Your nurse will tailor your health screen to your particular age, sex and medical history. However, the following basic measurements and tests are included:
