Is a Breast Uplift procedure right for me?

Breast Uplift surgery is for you if you are comfortable with the size of your breasts but would like for them to appear in a more youthful, pert position, with firmness and fullness restored.

However, if you are looking to increase or decrease the volume of your breasts, a Breast Enlargement or Breast Reduction might be a suitable combination with the Breast Uplift procedure in order to get the results you want.

The best course of action is determined during the consultation process where you will receive all the information and advice you need to make a decision on what is the correct procedure for you.

Can I get a Breast Enlargement or Reduction at the same time as my Breast Uplift procedure?

Yes, it is possible and common to combine procedures. If you combine a Breast Enlargement with the Breast Uplift procedure, this is called Augmented Mastopexy and will serve to increase the volume of your breasts as well as a lift.

What happens during the breast uplift procedure?

There are several mastopexy techniques and your surgeon will advise you on the one most suitable for you as an individual. However, the most common method is to create a small incision that encircles the nipple and drops down to the natural crease beneath the breast. The nipple will be repositioned and excess skin removed from underneath the breast to allow for reshaping. The incision will then be closed with stitches.

Breast uplift surgery is performed under general anaesthetic and generally lasts up to two hours.

What is the recovery process like?

You will be required to stay one night in the hospital immediately after the procedure. Most people take one to two weeks off work to rest and allow their body to recover but everybody heals at a different pace. It is very important during the healing process to steer clear of any physical exertion or lifting as this can damage the fragile skin of your bust.

You will be given information on how best to care for your new breasts, and you will additionally be required to wear a supportive bra day and night for the first few weeks.

There will be some swelling and bruising after the procedure so be aware that you may not get an accurate picture of your new breasts until the healing process is complete.

Is Breast Uplift surgery painful afterwards?

Here will be soreness and some level of discomfort after surgery. However, our medical staff will give you the best advice on how to manage this with prescribed medication.

Will there be much scarring?

There will be some scarring where the incisions are made – around the nipple and in a vertical line beneath each breast. However, due to the position of the incision, they will not be visible when you are wearing a bra or swimwear. With time, most scars fade to the natural tones of your skin.
