Private pain management treatment: Relief from neck or back pain with radiofrequency thermocoagulation and rhizolysis for up to three joints

Private pain management treatment: Relief from neck or back pain with radiofrequency thermocoagulation and rhizolysis for up to three joints

Minimal waiting times and high-quality care at your fingertips with care at Highgate Private Hospital

If you have neck or back pain, this may be coming from your facet or sacroiliac joints:

Facet joints: These are the links between the bones in your spine. They provide stability and allow your spine to bend and twist.

Sacroiliac joints: These are the links between your pelvis and lower spine. They provide stability and absorb the impact when you walk or lift objects.

You may be offered a thermal pain treatment called radiofrequency thermocoagulation or rhizolysis. The aim is to cause heat damage to the nerves in your facet or sacroiliac joints. This can stop them from sending pain signals to your spine. You are given a local anaesthetic. This means that you are awake during the short procedure, but do not feel any pain. The surgeon uses an X-ray machine to guide a small needle to the affected area in your facet or sacroiliac joints. Special radio waves heat the tip of this needle. It can then destroy the nerve endings that are causing your pain. This can give you longer pain relief than facet or sacroiliac joint injections.

The Pain Management Team diagnoses and treats all types of problems affecting the spine. Our leading spinal team ensure that you get the best possible care from your diagnosis to rehabilitation.

At Highgate Private Hospital, we understand that spinal problems are a common cause of pain, reduced mobility and loss of earnings. We offer an all-inclusive self-pay package for radiofrequency thermocoagulation or rhizolysis. Prices for treating up to three facet or sacroiliac joints and one follow-up appointment start from £2,125 (terms and conditions apply). For more information, please call our self-pay advisers on 020 3918 9463.
