Men are traditionally known to be more indifferent towards their healthcare, especially compared to the efforts of women, however a new clinic at Highgate Private Hospital is aiming to change all that.
Highgate Private Hospital have launched a Men’s Health Clinic which will encompass a number of services aimed at ensuring that men are keeping their health in check and staying fit and well.
The specialisms covered at the clinic include Urology, Vasectomy, Cardiovascular Disease, Prostate Disease, Colorectal, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy as well as Sports Injuries, Health Screening, Private GP Services and a Travel Clinic.
Research has indicated that many men don’t undergo regular health checks as they find it difficult to see a doctor within their busy schedules. The new Men’s Health Clinic at Highgate Private Hospital not only provides a one-stop-shop for all male health concerns it also offers expert medical advice at a time convenient to the individual.
Mark Lyons, Hospital Director at Highgate Private Hospital, said: “We are delighted to be launching our new men’s health service and I am sure it will become a very popular addition to the portfolio of leading healthcare services we provide at the Hospital.
“The average life expectancy for men in the UK is currently four years less than women and we feel that the by providing a clinic where men can discuss and receive treatment for a wide range of health issues, it will allow men to take a more pro-active role in their own healthcare.
“From an appointment with a GP, to a vasectomy, sports injuries to a virtual colonoscopy with our state-of-the-art CT scanner, all male health concerns are catered for at the new clinic.
“We are continuing to invest in the range of services we provide at the Hospital and in addition to the Men’s Health clinic we will soon be launching a Women’s Health Clinic and Pain Clinic.”
Highgate Private Hospital welcomes all patients, whether insured or paying for their own treatment.
