About

Dr Tang graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School, with subsequent broad postgraduate Gastroenterology/Hepatology higher specialist training in London at Guys & St Thomas’s Hospitals, University College Hospital, and completing training at the Institute of Liver Studies, King’s College Hospital. He is dual-accredited in both Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine.

He pursued subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy/colonoscopy and ERCP as an Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1998 – 1999), and now provides a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/ERCP service, as well as active in Endoscopy training in his role as both Educational and Clinical Trainee Supervisor in general Gastroenterology. He is an examiner for UCL/RFH Final MB, and CMT interviewer at London Deanery.

Dr Tang was awarded a Wellcome Institute Research Fellowship and conducted full-time research at the Institute of Hepatology, University College London (2000 – 2003), completing his MD thesis in Hepatitis/Liver disease, presenting and publishing widely in this field. He is BCF Lead in Hepatology and runs a broad Liver and Pancreatobiliary Service with a dedicated Hepatitis Treatment Clinic Member of RCPLAGABASL
