Helen Appanah

Helen is a physiotherapist at both Highgate Hospital and sister hospital, Holly House Hospital.  She qualified as a physiotherapist from East London University in 2002.  Prior to this, Helen obtained a sports science degree from Brunel University and worked as a personal trainer and sports rehabilitator.  Helen worked in the NHS for two years, before moving into private practice and spending three years working with dancers and theatre performers in the West End including The Royal Ballet, The Royal Ballet School, The Lion King and Stomp. Helen has extensive experience of working with a variety of sports injuries and places a high emphasis on rehabilitation and prompt return to sport/activity.

Carolyn Welsford

Carolyn works as a physiotherapist at both Highgate Hospital and sister hospital, Holly House Hospital.  She qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 2003 from Manchester University.  Since then, she has worked in the NHS for over seven years initially consolidating her experience in various fields of physiotherapy.  Carolyn then worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in Orthopaedics before moving back into outpatients in 2006.  She became Team Lead of a physiotherapy department in 2007, developing both clinical and management skills. Carolyn has worked at Holly House for over three years and is now full-time after leaving the NHS.
