Our bodies vary enormously, but it is your own personal perception that is most important. Many women feel uncomfortable about the size and appearance of their genital area, especially after childbirth. Childbirth can often result in the stretching of vaginal muscles leaving them weak and affecting sexual pleasure, as well as causing embarrassment or discomfort. Vaginal tightening is a procedure which tightens the vaginal muscles and surrounding tissue. The procedure
Vaginal tightening is performed under general anaesthetic and therefore will most likely require an overnight stay in hospital. The stretched muscle at the back of the vagina is reconstituted to reduce excess vaginal lining and tighten vaginal muscles.
Recovery
Patients will be sore and swollen after surgery, and will need time off work to rest and recover. Penetrative sex should be avoided for several weeks.
Next steps
This procedure is usually carried out by a Consultant Gynaecologist, so unlike other cosmetic treatments a free consultation is not offered to people considering labia surgery. To book a consultation, please call us on 020 8341 4182.
