Large text Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the eye and vision. Ophthalmology integrates with many other branches of medicine – for example, did you know that the commonest cause of visual impairment under the age of 65 years is diabetes?
Our service We offer regular outpatient clinics with Consultant Ophthalmologist to assess vision, diagnose and treat a variety of vision and eye-related problems such as:
- Age-related macular degeneration
- Blocked tear ducts
- Cataracts
- Cosmetic surgery (blepharoplasty)
- Diabetic retinopathy and diabetic eye disease
- Glaucoma
- Refractive surgery
- Strabismus (squint)
- Uveitis (ocular inflammation)
- Vitreo-retinal surgery
