Respiratory medicine is concerned with the nasal passages, trachea, lungs and bronchi. These organs are responsible for carrying oxygen from the air to the blood and expelling carbon dioxide. 

Our service
We offer regular outpatient clinics with a Consultant Physician, supported by a range of specialist services to assess and treat a full range of respiratory conditions including:

• Allergy
• Asthma
• Breathing difficulties
• Chronic cough
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Emphysema
• Sleep apnoea (snoring and breathing difficulties during sleep)

Next steps
Your GP will usually need to recommend that you see a specialist, before you can be seen or treated at hospital for a respiratory condition.  Ask your GP to refer you to  Highgate Hospital, and then call us on 020 8341 4182 to book an appointment.
