Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery - Surgeons' skill, experience and qualifications It is important that if you are considering cosmetic surgery, you are reassured as to the qualifications and skill of the Consultant who would be carrying out your operation as well as the nursing staff who will look after you during your recovery. The cosmetic and plastic surgeons operating and consulting at Highgate Hospital are all appropriately qualified for the procedures they carry out. All are members of the GMC (General Medical Council) and/or members of appropriate professional organisations such as BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons) or BAAPS (British Association of Plastic Surgeons/British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons). Do not be afraid to ask your Consultant about his or her qualifications and experience in the particular procedure you are interested in. Highgate Hospital nursing staff are all fully qualified nurses and registered with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council), many of whom have lengthy and specific experience in treating and looking after patients who have undergone cosmetic surgery. In addittion, the Hospital has its own Medical Advisory Committee made up of surgeons and doctors from a wide range of specialities, which in turn oversees the granting of admitting privileges to all new Consultants. London's Highgate Hospital offers a wide range of surgical pocedures including breast implants, breast augmentation, breast enlargement, breast uplift, breast reduction, blepharoplasty (upper and/or lower eyelids), liposuction, tummy tuck, facelift, pinnaplasty and rhinoplasty. |
