Hospital staffWe welcome both patients with private health insurance and those paying for their own treatment.

If you decide you would like to book an outpatient appointment, treatment, scan or procedure with a consultant at Highgate Hospital, you will usually need a letter of referral from your GP.

It is your choice as to which hospital you are treated at and by which consultant. So, if your GP recommends that you need to see a specialist consultant, you can ask them to refer you to Highgate Hospital. Once you have a referral letter, please contact your private medical insurance company (if applicable) and then call us on 020 8347 3899 to make an outpatient appointment.

There are a few hospital services, however, that you are able to refer yourself for including:

If you are waiting for treatment at an NHS hospital or other private hospital, you may also choose to continue your treatment at Highgate Hospital instead.  In this instance please contact us directly on 020 8347 3890 and we can arrange your procedure and also get your medical notes transferred.
